you should dare to eat me.

i made non-traditional rice krispie treats the other day.

they are both dairy and gluten free. though i suppose all rice krispie treats are gluten free...

anyhow -
recipe below.

Crispy Rice Chocolately Treats

4 c brown rice crisps
2/3 cup dark chocolate chips [or some dark chocolate bars all chopped up, like i did]
1/2 cup smooth almond butter
5 T raw agave nectar
1 T vanilla extract
1/2 t ground cinnamon

Place rice krispies and chocolate in a large bowl.

On the stove over medium-low, heat the almond butter and the agave until it is warm and syrup-like. Remove from the heat and add in the vanilla and the cinnamon.

Pour syrup mixture over the cereal and chocolate and mix together until cereal is coated.

Use cooking spray to grease the bottom of a 7x11 or 9x11 baking dish. Pour in the mixture and pat down with a greased fork or wet fingers and let chill in the refrigerator for a bit before serving in small squares.

and that's it!
***********************

they turned out alright. SUPER sweet. they are traditionally made with raisins, not chocolate [ha.] so that could have something to do with it. that, or maybe just add less agave?

either way, this dessert should delight vegans near and far :) enjoy!
