the slow loris has to be the funniest animal alive.

it is also one of the slowest.

and this is probably why i find it so funny.

i went to the san diego zoo yesterday with my family. we tried to go 2 years ago, but got distracted and pulled off at the disneyland exit.

when dad estimated that we would spend about 3 or 4 hours at the zoo, mom and i laughed. "4 hours? HA! more like 2, pops."

5 1/2 hours later we were the last ones leaving.

the park closed to new visitors at 4:00 and everyone had to be out of the park by 5:00.

except for the neilsons, who figured the rules didn't apply to them, and walked out of the park at 6:15 pm.

aside from my sore heels, i had a fantastic day. i saw two really great rhinoceroses. [rhinoceri?] 2 of 'em. they're my favorite, for sure. this one and i had a love affair.

the orangutans were great, too. one of them couldn't [wouldn't?] walk straight, but would get around by walking in circles instead. he circle-walked his way over to us, rolled into a somersault, and jumped back up just in time to meet us at the glass and knock at us. what a guy.

oh, to be an ape.
